Make a colourful trinket tray and marbled pot in this hands-on eco-resin workshop for kids aged 8–12.

In this hands-on holiday workshop, kids will create two beautiful, functional pieces using beginner-friendly acrylic resin: a terrazzo-style trinket tray and a marbled mini pot.

We’ll guide them through every step — from mixing pigments and creating coloured chips to pouring, casting, sanding and sealing their pieces. Each child will choose their own colour palette using just primary colours and experiment with two decorative techniques:

Terrazzo chips – colourful fragments sprinkled into the mix
Marbling – swirling blended colours for a smooth, fluid look

Acrylic resin (also known as eco-resin) is water-based, non-toxic and completely safe for kids to use. It sets quickly and produces professional-looking results — perfect for proud gift-giving or home display.

Kids will go home with two finished pieces they made entirely themselves!

What kids will learn:

Understand the principles of mixing colour using only primary colours, black & white pigments.
Learn how to mix and add colours to the Acrylic Resin to create their own colour palette.
How to create coloured chips.
How to mix different shades to create a marbled effect.
How to cast the materials into a silicon mould.
Once their pieces are cured we will show them how to sand and seal it and send them home with a finished piece ready to display proudly!

What To Bring

Please avoid foods containing nuts or other common allergens (as a courtesy to other participants).

Who It’s For

Perfect for kids aged 8–12. No prior experience needed – just a love of making! All materials provided.

Please note this class is not suitable for children under 8 years old or those in Years K–2, as the activities involve fine motor skills and fiddly techniques that younger children often find too challenging.

Cancellation Policy: Due to the seasonal nature of this workshop it can not be cancelled or rescheduled. You are welcome to send someone else in your place if you can't make it on the day. In most of our workshops we require a minimum number of people to run the workshop and will do our absolute best to run every workshop we list but occasionally it is not commercially feasible to do so. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the class; in this case, we'll inform you and allow you to get a full refund or reschedule.
