SCRIBBLY GUM EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP WITH AMY JONES: CREATE A TEXTURED BUSH-INSPIRED LANDSCAPE IN THREAD
Made By Me Workshop

LEARN LAYERED EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUES IN AMY’S SCRIBBLY GUM WORKSHOP!
Join renowned textile artist Amy Jones of Amy’s Grandpa Cat for a full-day embroidery workshop inspired by the natural patterns of the Australian bush. Drawing from the distinctive textures of scribbly gum trees, you’ll explore layered stitch techniques to create a beautifully textured landscape in thread.
This workshop is perfect for thread lovers—whether you’re new to embroidery or already stitching with confidence. Guided by Amy, you’ll work with a wide variety of fibres, including hand-dyed wool, over-dyed cotton, silk and metallic threads, to craft your own richly detailed piece. Using stitches such as long and short stitch, seed stitch, French knots and beading, you’ll learn how to create depth, movement, and interest in your embroidery.
By the end of the day, you’ll take home your own bush-inspired artwork—textural, layered and uniquely yours.
