Weave a Wallhanging Workshop

Learn the essential weaving skills to create your own wallhanging!

Rebecca, our Chief Crafting Officer, likens weaving to a creative meditation, it is possible to completely tune out all the noise in this crazy world and immerse yourself in the process of creating your own wallhanging that you will want to proudly display in your home.

In this workshop, Rebecca will guide you through the step by step process of creating your own woven wallhanging. Using a wooden loom (that is yours to keep) luxury wools and fibres, you'll master the basic skills and techniques to be able to create your own stunning items to decorate your home with! 

What you'll learn:

1. How to warp up your loom.
2. Learn essential weaving techniques and knots including rya knots, tabby and Soumak.
3. Learn what all the confusing weaving terms and tools are.
4. Learn ow to remove your tapestry from the loom ready to hang.

What you get:

Everything you need is supplied including a selection of fibres from our selection luxury wool and other fibres, a piece of wooden dowel and all the instructions you will need to complete your wall hanging. Please note colours will vary depending on supply at the time of the workshop. At the end of the workshop you will have created (or near completed) your own one-of-a-kind wallhanging - what you don't finish in class you should easily be able to complete at home.

You will need to enter through the store and then head upstairs to our studio, we will meet you out the front to check you in and escort you upstairs.

What you'll need to bring:

You only need to bring your enthusiasm & curiosity, we will provide everything else you need to create your wallhanging.

Suitable for:

Perfect for beginners with no previous experience or skills required. 
We believe craft is as much about creativity as it is about connection, in our workshops you have the opportunity to meet new friends, share a few stories, laugh with each other and simply enjoy some time out for yourself. We have coffee & tea making facilities as well as some snacks to sustain you throughout the workshop but please feel free to come with friends and bring a bottle of bubbles - who says it's too early??? 

Cancellation Policy: You can reschedule your class with up to 10 days notice, 24 hours notice if you must COVID-isolate (proof maybe requested) We do not refund classes but you are welcome to send someone else in your place if you can't make it on the day. We reserve the right to cancel classes if minimum numbers are not met in which case we will offer to reschedule or a full refund.
