Learn Japanese and French mending techniques and then turn your sampler into a Needle Book!

In this exciting workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn Japanese and French mending techniques from Jody Alexander, joining us all the way from California! You will then turn your newly acquired skills into a beautiful Needle Book that you can use or give as a thoughtful gift.

Don't worry if you're new to this, this workshop is perfect for beginners who want to learn useful mending techniques. Jody will guide you through a variety of Japanese and French textile mends, along with examples from other cultures. You'll get hands-on practice stitching on French linen and create your own sampler.

Once you've mastered the techniques, you will transform your sampler into a functional and personalised needle book. Embrace the spirit of repair and reuse by bringing along your own fabric scraps and threads. This will ensure that your needle book truly reflects your unique style and creativity.

Throughout the workshop, you'll be treated to a tasty afternoon tea provided by Rebecca from Made by Me Workshop. This will keep your creative energy flowing as you immerse yourself in the art of mending. So, indulge in some delicious treats while you learn and create!

Join us in our creative space in St Peters for this transformative workshop. Discover the art of repair, reuse, and storytelling through textiles. Learn new skills, make something meaningful, and take home your very own personalized needle book. We can't wait to welcome you and see what you create!

Since Jody is a special guest teacher it is not possible to reschedule the workshop to another day. In most of our workshops we require a minimum number of people to run the workshop and will do our absolute best to run every workshop we list but occasionally it is not commercially feasible to do so.
