Kids Marbled Trinket Tray Workshop
Made By Me Workshop

Unleash their creativity making their own one-of-a-kind Trinket Tray!
This is a great school holiday activity for the creatively minded child (or adult - we do not discriminate), it is hands on messy fun that you don't have to clean up!
In this workshop, we will guide your child through all the steps to make an oval trinket tray from an acrylic resin called Jesmonite. Using their chosen colours they will create their tray by layering, marbling or even splashing their colours into one of our silicon moulds. Jesmonite is a gypsum and acrylic-based material, which is solvent-free and has no VOC's and is often called an eco-resin, it is easy to work with, beginner friendly and produces great results.
What your child will learn:
- How to mix and add colours to the Jesmonite to create their chosen colour palette
- How to cast the materials into a silicon mould, we will show them different options for how they could use the materials to achieve different effects.
- Once their piece is cured we will show them how to sand and seal them and send them home with a finished piece ready to display proudly!
Jesmonite is considered safe by most experts. Its lightweight form does not emit toxic fumes, and there are no documented health risks associated with Jesmonite, we recommend pregnant women check with their health care professional before working with any chemicals.
We believe craft is as much about creativity as it is about connection, in our workshops your child will have the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy learning some new skills away from their screens. Our kids workshops are a perfect school holiday activity that will keep your child entertained but also provide new skills that can be applied to future projects to occupy their time and stretch their minds beyond the workshop.
Class sizes are always kept small so that they enjoy hands-on assistance while they learn and create.
Parents are welcome to book into the workshop, otherwise if you want to attend but not participate we have another space where you are welcome to wait, help yourself to tea or coffee and catch up on some reading or your socials. Children are OK to be left unattended, our space is secure and not open to people who have not booked into a workshop. All teachers have a valid working with children check that can be shown upon request.
