Creative Mending & Decoration Workshop With Pauline Franklyn
Made By Me Workshop
Embrace the Circular Fashion movement: Learn to Mend & Revitalise Your Favourite Garments!
We're thrilled to welcome back Pauline Franklyn, visiting us all the way from Western Australia! After hosting several successful workshops with us over the past year, Pauline is returning to share her colorful and fun approach to stitching and creative mending at Made By Me Workshop in St Peters.
Inspired by her mother, who found joy in extending the life of garments, Pauline embraces the principles of circular fashion by bringing creativity and color to the meditative task of mending. Using hand-dyed wool yarns, Liberty fabrics, and Indian cottons, she teaches you how to repair, reuse, and revitalize your cherished clothing.
In this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring along a pair of jeans, a favorite jumper with a moth hole, or any garment in need of rejuvenation. You'll learn Pauline's favorite weaving technique, Kantha running stitch, detached chain, Turkey work, and appliqué for patching.
The hand-dyed yarns Pauline uses are a joy to stitch with—both forgiving and inspiring. As you work, every stitch becomes a delightful surprise, as colors emerge and your mending takes shape, creating a piece that feels almost magical. This workshop is about embracing the pleasure and freedom of stitching while contributing to a more sustainable and mindful wardrobe.
